We are thrilled to announce the triumphant conclusion of our 7th In-Person Continuing Medical Education (CME) event on Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) with a primary focus on the Whole Food Plant-Based Diet (WFPB). The event, organized by Physicians Association for Nutrition India (PAN India), took place on the prestigious grounds of PSGIMS&R Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, on September 16th, 2023.

AIIMS- BILASPUR CME

Evidence-Based Nutrition – In-person CME on Whole Food Plant-Based Diet” at AIIMS Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, India, marked a convergence of medical minds to explore the transformative potential of whole food plant-based diets.

Esteemed professionals, researchers, faculty, and students gathered to unravel the relationship between nutrition and health, setting the stage for a day of enlightenment.

Against the backdrop of AIIMS Bilaspur, this event promised insights into combating non-communicable diseases through dietary interventions.

GMC Jalgaon CME

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) organized by Goverment Medical College (GMC), Jalgaon, on 14th July, was highly successful, drawing the participation of 186 esteemed delegates. Among the attendees were the DEAN, Principal, Professors representing various departments, as well as other faculty members, medical students, residents, and postgraduate students.

Bengaluru CME

In January 2023, PAN India joined forces with Umeed, the community service club at BMCRI, to promote evidence-based nutrition (EBN) and a whole food plant-based diet. Twelve volunteers underwent training on these topics and signed an MOU to conduct ongoing engagement activities on EBN at BMCRI. PAN-Umeed volunteers obtained necessary permissions from various departments to organize the CME with the guidance of PAN Medical Program team. PAN India arranged for a WFPB chef and provided marketing materials for the collaboration.

Registrations started in the second week of July, with 409 participants signing up after PAN Umeed volunteers reached out to multiple departments and shared event details and the WFPB menu. The event commenced on a positive note with an eco-friendly invocation, symbolized by dignitaries watering a hibiscus plant, representing joy and prosperity.

Dr. Rajeena Shahin delivered an enlightening seminar, emphasizing the importance of making conscious and informed food choices for a successful lifestyle. An engaging panel discussion followed, featuring renowned doctors from various fields who shared their expertise on implementing plant-based diets in their practice. A lively Q&A session provided attendees with an opportunity to seek further insights. The event concluded with a delectable vegan buffet, courtesy of @justbebynidhinahata, offering a surprising array of delicious plant-based delights.

The inaugural In-Person Seminar on ‘Evidence Based Nutrition’ hosted 70 doctors from the Jaipur Medical Society. With the ongoing Platinum Jubilee celebration of the SMS Jaipur Medical College, a 50% drop-out rate was expected. However, the scientific session saw an attendance of 37 dedicated doctors

AIIMS, Jodhpur CME

The In-Person Seminar held in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the most prestigious group of medical institutions in the country, was a source of immense pride for PAN India. The organizers put in efforts to engage around 200 interns, final year students, and faculty members to participate in the seminar, further enhancing its significance and impact.

The upcoming In-Person Seminar at AIIMS Nagpur serves as a significant milestone for the project team, adding another feather to their cap. Dr. Mrunal Phatak, the esteemed Head of Physiology, has graciously extended her support in coordinating and organizing this remarkable event. With her guidance, the seminar anticipates an esteemed audience of 500 attendees, including interns, medical students, junior and senior residents, as well as esteemed faculty members.
